Whew, that was a long one!

Sorry, I get wordy.  I think I was out of space on that last post and I wasn't even done!  So, back to the small linen closet.  Matt has a lot of hats, but he really likes them, so I am fine with all of his hats.  I did ask if I could consolidate them, and he said yes, so I gained a whole shelf for the sheets that are in the laundry room.  I hate laundry.  I know a lot of people who would hire a personal chef if they had the $$, but I would hire a personal laundress.  Or Kelly Ripa.  I hear personal robots are on the horizon, so maybe I can get one that does the laundry.  A girl can dream!  So, here is my real linen closet.  Which I love for the size, but have hated because there wasn't enough room for all of our towels and I didn't have things organized very efficiently and paper towel rolls would fall from the sky on your head and the damn laundry is always stuffed in the bottom so you can't close the door.  True confessions.  Here it is.

BEFORE--The REAL Linen Closet, in all it's gory detail
After a lot of thought, hard work, elbow grease and wine....now my linen closet looks like this!  I actually did a few loads of laundry while I was working on all of this.  Am I awesome or what?

Everything is easily accessible, and there is plenty of room for the towels that you see still stuffed in the laundry baskets in the bottom of the linen closet!  And I can shut the door!  Although, I will probably leave it open and you might find me glassy-eyed, staring into the linen closet, quietly enjoying a glass of Riesling... before the towels get washed and actually make it into the closet.  Oh well, the linen closet is DONE!

  1. Love it! Wine does make organizing much more fun!

  2. I forgot to mention that I think folding washcloths is a waste of resources, namely, my time and energy, so I just throw them in a plastic basket. I re-purposed another basket and now have my white washcloths that I use everyday to wash my face separate from my colorful ones. Easy solution to the yucky problem that is laundry.
