I would like to thank Karen the Suburbanite from
www.goodbyecityhellosuburbs.blogspot.com for nominating me for the Stylish Blogger Award. Stop on by, she would love a visit. This is my first award (YAY!) and I'm not sure what I am doing yet, so I hope I don't mess this up. I cannot figure out how to get the little award logo to appear in my post, you may have to visit her site to get it?
There are RULES to this stylish blogger award:
1. Thank and link back to the person who gave you this award.
2. Share 7 things about yourself.
3. Award 10-15 recently discovered great bloggers.
4. Contact these bloggers and tell them about the award.
about ME:
#1 I tend to get obsessed with things and since Christmas it has been upgrading to a DSLR camera. I enjoy photography and scrapbooking and I have been doing a lot of research online and talking with my photographer friend John IV about which camera to purchase. Right now I have it narrowed down to Nikon D5000 or Sony A55 (which isn't really a DSLR but is amazing new technology.) If you have either of these cameras I would be happy to hear your thoughts.

Photo I took that supposedly won an online contest and was published in a book.
I don't know for sure because I didn't buy the book. |

#2 I don't play well with others or share well. Actually it's just the sharing part. I was an only child on both sides of my family for 8 long years, then I FINALLY got a brother after asking Santa, the Easter Bunny and anybody who would listen, for a brother or sister...Well, I finally got a brother, but then I realized what I REALLY wanted was a sister. I guess that's life. My pretend sister is Lisa Lew and she moved far away from me again in 2010. She's the one that has been encouraging me to blog for a couple of years now (finally doing it!) and introduced me to facebook and Becky Higgins Blog and Project Life a few years ago which is really the only Blog I followed until this week when I entered this strange new world and started doing the 21 Day Organizational Challenge from www.abowlfulloflemons.blogspot.com

#4 I tend to go overboard in decorating for Christmas and Halloween because those are my two favorite holidays. I do a different Christmas Theme every year and this year I was really proud because the people who came to visit commented about how "Festive" everything was. My dear husband was so excited about the decor this year and said earnestly, "You should win a prize." He cracks me up.

#5 I have completed (unlocked?) every Angry Birds episode and golden eggs in the regular version and the halloween and Christmas versions without ever looking up any solutions on the internet. I consider that cheating. I have started to (cheat) look at the internet for ways to get 3 stars on certain boards now, so I can get all of the 3 star golden eggs.
#6 Thanks to my husband, we always try to buy American, then anywhere but China, and only buy products from China as a last resort. I have gotten into conversations with people at the store when I am looking at the options and everyone acts like it is impossible or very hard to do. It is NOT hard, especially the last two years, which has been very nice with all of the recent lead scares. We are not fanatics, just conscientious about the choices we make, in this area, at least. Food is becoming the hardest, you would not believe how much of our food comes from China. What is going on? Scary. My husband grew up on a farm and we hope to have a farm in the near future.
#7 We have the best pets on the planet. Well, two out of three ain't bad. Ynona IS the world's greatest cat. We have had so much fun with her. I had Skarlit (a golden retriever/chow mix) when Matt and I met and she is loyal to me, but scary to strangers (which was great when I was single) but she is an escape artist and I really need to get her under control. Then we have Pepper. We adopted all of them from shelters and Pepper is a black lab that was supposed to be Matt's hunting dog, except now she is lazy and gunshy. Skarlit is an excellent hunter and has naturally pointed since she was a pup. I never taught her that. Matt went to look at Pepper at the shelter and I didn't know about it and I called him when I got done showing some houses and he said he was at the shelter and I was close by so I stopped by. She was the prettiest dog and as calm as could be, sweet. I said, "aw, we have to get her!" I swear they gave her tranquilizers because she has NEVER been calm since! She is always moving, jumping, wagging her tail, slobbering, licking, sniffing, eating. The two dogs couldn't be more opposite. Peppers saving grace is that she is an excellent ball player. I've never seen a dog love playing ball so much. She would make an excellent KC Chief. Matt calls plays to her and throws her football at her and she never misses it, or fumbles. This is one reason I need a fast camera. Pets are hard to photograph, especially disobedient ones. We are really proud of our pets!
